AI outputs can be wrong. Always verify important information before acting.
Nature of AI Outputs
Sigma Terminal uses AI systems — currently large language models from Anthropic, PBC — to summarize data, structure research, compare securities, generate scenarios, and explain potential risks. AI output is probabilistic and may be incomplete, outdated, misleading, internally inconsistent, or incorrect.
No Human Review by Default
Unless we clearly say otherwise, AI outputs are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a licensed financial professional or Sigma Terminal employee before being shown to you.
Hallucinations and Reasoning Errors
AI may invent facts, misread data, overstate confidence, miss material events, misunderstand your context, or produce reasoning that appears coherent but is wrong. AI may also produce different answers to similar questions across requests.
AI may also over-trust incomplete provider data. If a provider response omits an earnings date, filing, estimate, price, or news item, that omission does not prove the event or data point does not exist.
Model and Provider Changes
AI providers, prompts, models, retrieval tools, and safety filters may change over time. Prices, performance, and behavior may shift between model versions. Cached responses may be served briefly across requests for performance reasons.
Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYO Key)
Elite users may supply their own Anthropic API key. When you do, your prompts are routed to Anthropic under your account and billing relationship; Anthropic processes that data under its own privacy policy and terms. Sigma Terminal still acts as the network intermediary and does not retain plaintext prompts or your key after acceptance — the key is stored encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and the plaintext is never logged.
Image and Screenshot Parsing
If you upload or paste a brokerage screenshot, the image is sent to an AI provider to extract visible position rows. Image parsing can misread symbols, quantities, average prices, currencies, or account sections. Crop or redact information that is not needed, and review every extracted row before saving.
Scenario Scorecards
When eligible scenario ranges are logged and scored later, the result is a calibration tool, not audited investment performance. A previous score, hit rate, or miss rate does not prove future accuracy or profitability.
Your Responsibility
You should verify tickers, prices, filings, earnings dates, analyst estimates, calculations, parsed screenshot rows, and any trade assumptions using independent broker-grade or primary sources before relying on AI output. See the Financial Disclaimer and Risk Disclosure.
No Adviser Relationship
AI output is software output, not advice from a registered financial adviser, broker-dealer, accountant, or attorney. No fiduciary, agency, or professional relationship is created by your use of AI features.
Not a Regulated Investment Service
Sigma Terminal is not registered with any financial regulator and is not a licensed investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial adviser. Specifically:
- United States: not registered with the SEC under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940; not a member of FINRA, SIPC, or any U.S. exchange.
- United Kingdom: not authorised or regulated by the FCA under FSMA; does not carry on any regulated activity.
- Singapore: not licensed by MAS; not a financial adviser under the Financial Advisers Act 2001; does not hold a capital-markets-services licence under the Securities and Futures Act 2001.
- European Union: not authorised under MiFID II to provide investment services.
